The Indigenous Inheritance

In less than 100 years most of the indigenous people of the island – the Taínos – succumbed to the diseases brought by Europeans or were worked to death. A recent study on genetic ancestry discovered that a percentage of Cuban genes is still indigenous. More importantly, there’s a general approach towards a revival of the Taíno culture.
