Azerbaijani Visa

The government of Azerbaijan has set as its goal the development of tourism so that the country can be again one of the top tourist destinations, as it used to be in the 80’s. Visa application has, therefore, become simple and hassle-free, but make sure you make your e-visa application on the official website.

There are a few websites that look pretty much like the official website of the visa application. These websites are not scams, they do offer you a valid service. However, their service is not for free, and very often you end up paying three times the real amount of the visa when if you go to the official website you will pay one-third of the price for exactly the same service.

Apply for the e-visa at the Republic of Azerbaijan Official Electronic Visa Portal

  1. You can choose between Standard e-visa and Urgent e-visa. Urgent visas are processed within a period of three hours and, if your application is accepted, you are entitled to enter the country the same day you make your online application. Standard e-visas are processed within 3 working days, however, your e-visa is valid only 4 working days after your request. Which means that you can be granted the e-visa any time before the three working days, but the date on it will clearly state that the visa is only valid from 4 days after your request.
  2. You will need to answer a few simple questions (i.e. the address of accommodation in Azerbaijan – even if no reservation is demanded) and upload a pdf with your passport.
  3. Payment for Standard visa amounts to 23 US dollars while the urgent visa amounts to 50 US dollars (if you are being asked more than this amount you are probably on the wrong website!)
  4. You will receive an e-mail once your application is accepted with a link to download the electronic visa. You will need to have it printed so that you hand it at the border.

Remember:

Your e-Visa is valid for a total period of 90 days but your stay cannot exceed 30 days.
